Laboratory

The Laboratory provides diagnostic services 24 hrs a day and 7 days a week in the area of Hematology, Clinical Chemistry, Microbiology, Histopathology, Blood Bank and transfusion services. All lab staff works under close supervision of the pathologist, residents, laboratory manager and chief technical supervisor to ensure the reliability and promptness of the results.

Accuracy and precision of tests are maintained by strict internal quality assurance program which is reviewed by consultants and supervisors daily before putting up the samples on the machines.

Great care is taken to ensure that each patient is served quickly and efficiently. Computerized lab system helps reduce human error and keep our registration process rapid and accurate. Repeat patients are able to use an identifying number to access their record.

Our blood collection area is equipped with the highest quality sterile equipment and conditions. All needles are destroyed immediately after being used.

Hematology

This section of the laboratory has a comprehensive range of diagnostic services covering all blood cells and coagulation disorders. The section has fully automated analyzers Sysmex XT-1800i and CA-550. Expert morphological assessment, comments and differential diagnosis is provided by the hematologists. Bone Marrow Biopsies are performed and reported by our consultant hematologist.

Clinical Chemistry

Our Chemistry section utilizes state of the art equipment, from leading manufacturers
such as Roche and Abbott. Tow Blood gas and electrolyte analyzer also provide continuous service of the critical patients. Our equipment is amongst the most advanced laboratory equipment in Pakistan. We also utilize only the highest quality reagent, chemicals and other disposable items of international standards. Data is transferred electronically from the analyzers to computers, so that human error is minimized.

Commonly requested biochemical parameters associated with the health status of the patient are analyzed.

Immunology & Special Chemistry

Immunology/Special chemistry is performed on the state of art AXSYM (ABBOTT).. Immunological assay includes Hepatitis (A, B, C) , Hormones (Thyroid and Fertility) are performed with strict quality control and short reporting time. URGENT test facility is also available without extra charges.  

Microbiology

Our Microbiology section is fully manned with dedicated and professionally sound faculty. All samples are reported under the close supervision of Qualified Consultant Microbiologists.

Histopathology/Cytopathology

All sorts of biopsy specimens are processed in house and a highly qualified and experienced team of technologists and resident pathologists are involved in the case work up and diagnosis.

  Blood Bank

Blood Bank of Ittefaq Hospital is manned by a team of experienced and fully trained medical technologists who work under the supervision hematologist to provide quality service round the clock. Blood bank provides the facility of PROPER SCREEENING, GROUPING and CROSS MATCHING. Every DONOR is screened individually.
